APPEAL PROCESS

Appeal ProcessTVS will review your current tax bills based upon the underlying valuation and provide you with preliminary input at no cost.  We will advise you on whether we believe you can achieve cost savings through the tax appeal process. If you elect to retain our services, we will handle the appeal process from the local taxing authorities thru a court proceeding, if required.

INITIAL REVIEW

Upon engaging TVS regarding your property valuation/tax concerns, we will take the following steps to ensure delivery of optimal savings opportunities:

  • Overall analysis of property characteristics and taxing jurisdiction valuation errors.
  • Comparable property analysis for equalization purposes. (If Applicable)
  • Substantiation of current appraised value versus appropriate market value.
  • Development of market value conclusion.
  • Update of property owner as to our appeal recommendations.

INITIATION & MANAGEMENT OF APPEAL

Following the initial review and recommendation, TVS will handle the appeal process from beginning to end. Although the following appeal level proceedings vary from state to state, they are typically very comparable.

  • File required appeal forms for excessive assessments and valuations.
  • Attend informal hearing with taxing jurisdiction staff.
  • Attend local board level proceedings.
  • Prepare and present supportive valuation evidence to state and or judicial court.
  • Provide client with updates and supporting documentation as to the results of each level of appeal.

*Note – Not all levels of appeal will be required in most cases.
